It’s about sick babies, you B****RDS!

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

What kind of person wants to put the brakes on a program that has had demonstrated success in providing health care to poor babies and toddlers? What kind of individual plays politics while hard working parents are scrimping and saving to buy asthma medicine for their children?

Here he is:

Bush/Cheney ultra-lite

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

If Hillary is Bush/Cheney lite, then Obama is Bush/Cheney ultra-lite. I know that Obama opposed the war before he was in the senate, but every since he has been in the senate, he has voted for it, by voting to fund it, except for the last time, when he waited for the war funding bill to get enough votes to pass before he voted against it.
Obama’s line of “We’ve got to be as careful getting out of Iraq as we were careless getting in” has to be the best Bush/Cheney ultra-lite line anybody could ever think of. To me, that’s code for, “It’s going to be quiet a while before we can “carefully” begin to start getting our troops out of Iraq”.

Campaign files disclosure reports, raises $3.4 million in June

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

The committee today reported it raised more than $3.4 million in one month from 9,167 donors, in financial information filed with the IRS today.

Senator Thompson had this to say:

The level of support and enthusiasm from people across this country is inspiring. It tells me that people are ready for a leader who will change the national attitude from political bickering to a shared vision for our future. A leader who will bring us together, one who understands the challenges we face.

A copy of the filing is available here.

Good Comment on Elizabeth Edwards

Nice comment by Washington Post
with videos:
Check it out.

It is flattering and correct and true.
Nothing about coats, cuts, style, etc.

Lots of fine videos. Who is running for office, anyway?

Win-win tax cut plan by Edwards.

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

You must frame the taxation debate in ways that lend support to Democratic plans.

Call it what it is, revenues.

Look at the balanced budget gains of the nineties.

The reason revenues increased was that wages increased.

Increased wages became a growth engine for the economy, it made new market sectors easier to develop.

Thus shorter transition curves, better returns past margin, and increased revenue as a result of a wider wage pool.

This allows a portioned tax cut as well. If revenues increase past a certain point the taxation scale can be measuredly eased.

Edwards will ease some key taxes, on a timed approach to America’s scale economy improvement of wages. The nineties were proof of how it worked.

He can take this moderate tax cut and add to market growth by additional rebates to the 401k plan.
